A warm welcome, spacious rooms and scenic views all await you at Mountain View, a rural family run B&B near Newmarket, Co Cork.
We are one of the few pet friendly B&Bs in the area, save a fortune on kennel fees, bring your dog with you on holiday! Dogs and other pets are welcome by prior arrangement.
Children are also most welcome, no charge for babies under 2. We provide a free travel cot & high chair.
We have two guest bedrooms:- Firstly a spacious groundfloor (downstairs) room with king-size bed, en-suite bathroom, walk-in- wardrobe & easy chair. Upstairs we have an equally large (family) room with 3 single beds, again en-suite. Both rooms offer views of the beautiful countryside.
Whether you are planning a family holiday, a romantic weekend break or simply need a single night stopover on the way to or from the airport/ferryport you can be assured of a relaxing and enjoyable stay.
Pet Policy
Up to 3 well behaved dogs are welcome to stay with you in your room while you are on the premises. If you leave the premises you must take your dog with your unless otherwise agreed.
We have a large garden where you are welcome to walk you dog on a lead (we have chickens, turkeys and pheasants in pens). The B&B is surrounded by quiet country lanes and there are plenty of places to walk off lead within a short drive.
Please be aware we have 3 dogs ourselves who are very friendly and usually well behaved!
Description
We are ideally located as a central base for exploring the SW region of the Republic of Ireland, being less than one hour's drive from Cork City, Blarney, Killarney (the start of the Ring of Kerry) Listowel, Kenmare, Ballybunnion beach and Tralee. You can head off in a different direction each day and always find plenty to see and do.Dogs are allowed to stay in your room while you are on the premises. There are quiet country lanes all around and several waymarked walking trails within a short drive.
Newmarket has a good selection shops, pubs and a Chinese restaurant. Kanturk is a larger town 5 miles away, it has restaurants, pubs, a small cinema, riverside park and castle.
Island Wood near Newmarket offers miles of woodland walks. It has a small riverside picnic area.
Visit Liscarrol Donkey sanctuary (free entry) dogs allowed on leads. Also Donneraile Park near Mallow. Also nearby several 18 hole golf courses, trout fishing on 14 miles of local riers and horse riding.

Directions
Mountain View B&B is approximately 70 minutes drive from Cork or Shannon airports and just 40 minutes drive from Kerry airport. Dublin is around a 3 hour drive as is Rosslare ferry port.
The Swansea-Cork car ferry has just started running again (March 2010) and this is ideal for UK visitors wishing to bring their dogs on holiday. Dogs can travel on ferries from the UK to Ireland without needing a "passport".
Newmarket town itself is located on the R576 between Kanturk and Rockchapel. The B&B is approximately 2.5 miles from the town centre.
